We are happy to announce the release of netty 4.1.97.Final. This release contains various bug-fixes and some performance improvements when writing large chunks of data while using the SslHandler.

The most important changes are:

• Fixing AsciiString#lastIndexOf To Respect The offset (#13527)
• Add support for snappy http2 content decompression (#13530)
• Add support for password-based encryption scheme 2 params (#13539)
• HttpHeaderValidationUtil should reject chars past the 1 byte range (#13541)
• Honor SslHandler.setWrapDataSize greater than SSL packet length (#13551)
• Add support for snappy http content encoding (#13529)
